Bruce Lee: The Evolution Of A Martial Artist
Just finished reading a great book on Bruce Lee written by Tommy Gong called Bruce Lee: The Evolution Of A Martial Artist, Tommy Gong was a student of Ted Wong who was Bruce Lee’s close friend and student the last 6 years of Bruce’s life. Tommy is on the board of directors for the Bruce Lee Foundation and the Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do advisory committee.
With access to all of Bruce Lee’s personal notes and books as well as interviewing people who knew and trained with Bruce, Bruce Lee: The Evolution Of A Martial Artist will take you thru the development of his art Jeet Kune Do from Seattle to Oakland and finishing off in Los Angeles. But what is really cool you learn what pushed Lee and influenced him in the development of his art, not just the physical aspect but the philosophical side.
There are a lot photos I have never seen before and fantastic bits of information that can help you in your everyday life to achieve your own goals. This book really helps you realize that Bruce Lee was not just a great martial artist but he had a great mind and was able to adapt what he read and apply it to his art, his life and the positive development of the people around him.
The evolution in his martial art which started in Wing Chun is a pretty incredible journey which started in the USA in 1959 and ended with his untimely death in 1973 and this book really goes behind the scenes and offers information that has not been published before on this journey.
