Can Dit Da Jow Be Used On Cuts ?

A question that is brought up often is ” Can Dit Da Jow Be Used On Cuts?” We recommend that you check with your supplier for your particular brand. Our Authentic Dit Da Jow and Iron Palm Liniment Kits can be used on small non bleeding cuts, scrapes, abrasions etc. You should not use on big gashes or big deep wounds, most likely you will need stitches and should see a doctor immediately.

Authentic Dit Da Jow and Iron Palm Liniments have one thing in common they move Qi and blood to promote fast healing. If you have a cut that is bleeding you would not want to increase the blood flow so you would not use the Dit Da Jow or Iron Palm liniments until you have stopped the bleeding.

That is the main reason, not so much that it is dangerous but because you want to arrest the bleeding not increase it.

Stop The Bleeding First

If you have a cut that does not want to stop bleeding you can use a powder called Yunnan Pai Yao on the cut to stop the bleeding. This powder was used by the Vietnamese during warfare to stop the bleeding from gunshot wounds suffered in battle. Serious bleeding injuries should always be attended to by a doctor, so see one immediately if necessary.
Other natural ways to arrest bleeding is using Hemostatic herbs like Bayberry, Tien Qi or fresh Shepherds Purse. They can be used in either in a alcohol extraction or ointment form. Also in a pinch distilled Witch Hazel or a Chinese ointment called Ching Wan Hung can be used. To heal the cuts quickly other ointments like Marigold or Comfrey have been used with good results.

Bleeding is a usually a special manifestation of traumatic injury, and is a pattern unto itself. In most injuries where there is bleeding, it must be stopped before you treat a trauma type injury. Once the bleeding has stopped then you can use either liniment without any problems. There are some liniments that contain herbs that should not be used cuts or open wounds so it is best to check with your supplier first to make sure it is OK.
