First thing is, do you want a healing liniment first and foremost? Or a liniment to help condition the body from training? There are some of you who want both due to your varied activities. So we will break down the liniments in those categories. One important point to remember is that some liniments do crossover and can help with certain issues that might not be mentioned but we will be concentrating and focusing on the main attributes of the liniments mentioned.

Healing Liniments

Dit Da Jow

Dit Da Jow also referred to as Shaolin or Authentic Dit Da Jow is primarily a liniment to help with bruises, contusions, sprains, trauma type injuries and sore muscles also known as DOMS. So if you sprain an ankle hit your finger with a hammer, develop a bruise or welt from contact then this ids the liniment to use. This liniment also strengthens the underlying blood vessels so they do not break or rupture as easily. This would be categorized a healing liniment as the properties are more neutral to slightly warm, the ideal properties for new injuries as it does not create more swelling like a hot property liniments would. So it does not get hot like Tiger Balm or Zheng Gu Shui.

Iron Palm

Iron Palm is a unique liniment that helps condition AND heal bones, tendons, ligaments and connective tissue. So if you practice Iron Palm/Hand or are punching or kicking a bag or other hard objects then this liniment should be used. If an injury or inflammation occurs to your tendons, joints, ligaments or bones then this liniment is recommended. This can be combined with the Dit Da Jow above when bruising and injury occurs to your bones, joints etc. One other important factor to consider is this liniment is very good as a pain reliever. This is also a neutral to slightly warm property formula like mentioned above.

Yangshang Tieda Yao

Yangshang Tieda Yao combines some of the properties of Dit Da Jow and Iron Palm in one liniment and can be used for bruising, bone and tendon health and also has been very helpful for persons suffering from arthritis. If you participate in activities like contact sports then this liniment is one to consider since it combines the properties of Dit Da Jow and iron Palm. If you strictly practice hitting a bag like boxer or hit an Iron Palm bag then we recommend the Iron Palm liniment mentioned above. This liniment is also highly recommended by customer who unfortunately were involved in a car accident. This would be considered a slightly warm property formula and can be used on fresh injuries.

Tie Ba Zhang Jow

Tie Ba Zhang Jow is a formula that uses the full properties of Dit Da Jow and Iron Palm in one liniment. In order to achieve this, the liniment is comprised of 36 unique herbs making this a huge kit to prepare. So if your looking for an all in one liniment that conditions and heals then Tie Ba Zhang is the ultimate choice. This liniment can handle full time Iron Palm training or help with bruises, twisted joints( for you Jiu Jitsu practitioners)and other injuries that occur from training. This is formula is really for hardcore people who train hard and/or are involved in a variety of activities. For most people this is overkill and not needed but is available for those who need the full power of Dit Da Jow and Iron Palm. This is a slightly warm property formula.

Conditioning Liniments

Ku Yu Chueng Iron Palm Liniment Kit

This is primarily a conditioning liniment for those who practice FULL TIME Iron Palm/Hand. Ku Yu Cheung should only be used by advanced practitioners who train Iron Palm on a daily basis. This liniment creates extra Qi in the hands and conditions bones while enhancing bone remodeling for more powerful striking. It is applied prior to and after Iron Palm training. So this is not a liniment most people would use and should be used only by advanced Iron Palm practitioners. This falls into the warm to hot category.

Wing Chun Dit Da Jow

This is primarily a conditioning formula first then a healing formula for bruising related to Wing Chun contact training and is a hot property liniment. So this should be used by persons training in a contact martial art.The Qi movement created when applied to the arms and hands really enhances sensitivity when practicing Chi Sao.

Leung Jan Dit Da Jow

Named after the historic Wing Chun practitioner this liniment works similarly like the Wing Chun Dit Da Jow but is not as hot. It conditions first and helps heal bruises and offers some bone and tendon strengthening when practicing the butterfly swords and long pole.

Tendon Warming Liniment

This liniment goes under the radar until it is used. Tendon Warming liniment helps to loosen up the tendons, joints and muscles for quicker movement. It also helps to heal tendons and muscles from chronic injuries. This is a hot property formula and should not be used when swelling occurs. Great liniment for stiff muscles and joints.

Below is a comparison chart with four of our most popular liniments and what the recommended uses are.
