Most Dit Da Jow Kits sold online are bagged and sealed in plastic bags, this is something we avoid. When certain herbs are combined and they come in contact with plastic a reaction occurs and some of the chemicals in the plastic can leech into the herbs. I have seen this happen many times especially when powerful herbs like Zhang Nao. Bing Pian or Bo He Nao are used and in some cases even Mo Yao. These herbs literally become fused to the plastic and are difficult to separate.

No plastic bags for our Dit Da Jow or other kits

Here are several of our kits that arrived to our customers home, no plastic bags are used insuring a contaminate free Jow. Photo courtesy of RC

We double wrap and in some cases triple wrap all of the kits we sell in recyclable paper just as if you were visiting and making a purchase at a Chinese Herbal Pharmacy. Since we prepare all kits fresh before they ship it makes sense to wrap them in paper and not a plastic bag. This prevents any contamination from the plastic into the herbal kit plus there is so much plastic everywhere we can at least do our part and eliminate one plastic bag from hitting the trash, one less carbon footprint to deal with.

There are occasions when we ship overseas like to Australia or the United Kingdom where we double or triple wrap the Dit Da Jow or any of our other kits in paper then slide the wrapped kit into a reusable zip lock freezer storage bag. Since it can take 2 and unusual cases 3 weeks to arrive this helps preserve the freshness. None of the herbs make contact with plastic which we feel is important.

Some of the kits sold online have been bagged and sealed months back, which is against our policy. We want to offer the freshest Dit Da Jow kit possible. When dealing with herbs that have strong aromatic properties it is best they are not sitting in a plastic bag with other herbs for months. You lose some potency in the Jow when they sit like that for months at a time.

When one of our kits arrive at your home you will notice how aromatic it is when you unwrap it, we recommend that you prepare the kit at that time. If for some reason you are not ready to prepare your kit or kits when they arrive it would be best that you do not open your package, instead place it in the freezer until you are ready for preparation.
