The Economics of Making Your Own Dit Da Jow
We are going to discuss the economics of making your own Dit Da Jow. We get asked often is it more economical to buy a ready made Dit Da Jow or purchase an herb kit and make it in bulk at home. The short answer is yes and we will break it down for you. You need three major components to prepare and make your Dit Da Jow at home.
First You need a Dit Da Jow Kit
Second You Need a Glass Jar
Third You Need Vodka
Three Component Breakdown
So now we know the three components, lets break down on costs of each one.
We have an Authentic Dit Da Jow Kit on sale For $55.99 which includes shipping, these are freshly prepared and not sitting in a plastic bag on a shelf.
A glass jar as pictured can be found online at the Container Store for $9.99 + tax
Vodka varies in price around the country, I can buy a 1.75 liter bottle for $11.00 + tax
Since this kit can make 144 ounces of liniment with a 5 liter jar, we will need 3- 1.75 liter bottles, $33.00 + tax
If we add the three components together we have a total without tax of $95.98, now if this kit can produce 144 ounces we just need to divide the total cost by the ounces $98.98/144oz = .69 cents per ounce.
So by making it at home will cost you .69 cents per ounce, this is quite a savings, a 4oz bottle would cost $2.75 plus the bottle and cap. Not bad, the economics of making your own Dit Da Jow is by far the best way to go. You can apply the same principles if purchasing other kits like the Iron Palm, Yangshang Tieda Yao or any other kit.
Aged Liniment
While making your own Dit Da Jow is very economical the only drawback is it not being aged. The longer you let the herbs macerate the stronger it becomes, we sell aged 4 year plus Dit Da Jow and Iron Palm liniment and it is stronger than if it was just made a month ago. The point being is you will have a very strong liniment in 4 weeks but it will be stronger as time goes on. Some testing we have done has shown that after 4 weeks you are at 75-80 percent strength then it slows down each subsequent week. So at 6 weeks you might be at 76-81 percent. A good Dit Da Jow at 75 percent strength is still powerful enough to heal most injuries and over time it will just get better and better. If you are dedicated and continue to shake the jar after 4 weeks daily you will speed up the process slightly. Unfortunately there is a point of diminishing returns where shaking your jar after lets say 2-3 months really does not do that much in speeding up the extraction.
Just Make It And Benefit
The bottom line is just make your Jow and use it in 4 weeks or so and not worry about the aging process, doing so allows you to benefit now and not in a few years. Obviously if you are not in a hurry to use your liniment then just shake and let it age until needed.
