What To Do When Your Dit Da Jow Runs Low
You purchased your first Dit Da Jow liniment kit and as the months go by the level of your liniment goes down so now you ask “what should I do”? So we will briefly explain what to do when your Dit Da Jow runs low. We get asked all the time “can we add more Vodka as the level of my Dit Da Jow goes down”? The answer is no, I chuckle because I wish we could as this would gives us a perpetual supply of liniment. The reason you can’t is simple, you would just be diluting down your liniment every time you added more vodka into your jar when the level went down. It would be like having a cup of coffee drinking half of it then wanting more coffee so you add water into your cup to fill it up, all you have is a very weak diluted cup of coffee.
When your Dit Da Jow runs low you have several options, first option is if the jar you have with your Dit Da Jow is large enough and you poured out any remaining liniment into a smaller jar or bottle you can add a new pack of herbs into the jar with the existing herbs then add your Vodka and start a second batch in with the first.
Second option is if you have fruit or wine press you can add your moist herbs from your initial batch into the press and squeeze out all the liniment you can and then add that squeezed out liniment in a jar or bottle. Once all the liniment is squeezed out you then can throw away the herbs and start fresh with your new pack of herbs. While we are referencing Dit Da Jow, you can do this with Iron Palm liniment or any other liniment you have in a jar with herbs.

Using a fruit press we squeezed out a fair amount of some potent liniment, very thick and full of healing compounds
The third option called ‘Herb Wash’ requires a little extra work but is very effective if you do not have a wine press, you will need to have:
1) An extra jar one gallon glass jar.
2) A measuring cup
3) small jar or bottle
4) Two 1.75 liter bottles of Vodka
5) One Herb Pack of Dit Da Jow or same liniment kit you currently trying to make a second batch with
First step is to pour out any liniment you have from your main jar with the herbs. Once all the liniment is poured out into your small jar or bottle follow step two.
Second Step:
Pour 29 ounces of Vodka into the big jar with the herbs, seal up the jar and shake vigorously for at least one minute, longer if you wish, then open the jar and pour out the liquid only into your extra one gallon jar. Now repeat this once again using the remaining Vodka you have.
Step Three:
Now repeat step two using your second 1.75 liter bottle of Vodka. Once this has been completed I like to measure and write down how much alcohol and liniment I have in my spare jar, and note the difference between what I have in my spare jar and the 3.5 liters of Vodka I used.
To recap what has been done so far is that you have literally taken out a major portion of molecular compounds and herbal constituents from the herbs which you can clearly see in the color of what you washed out and will use this with your second batch giving you an even stronger liniment the second time around.

As you can see the color difference from a couple of steps of extraction mentioned in this article. This is a great way to pull out the compounds if you do not have a wine press.
Step Four:
Once the herb wash has been completed you can toss out all the herbs in your glass jar and add your new herb pack into the jar. Now you can add your liniment that was washed out into the jar with the new herbs. If you did not measure the quantity of liniment washed out you should measure what you add into the new batch. This way you know how much fresh Vodka you can add into the second batch. Once all your liquid has been added to the new batch, seal the jar and using a magic marker make a line at the level of the liniment. Now shake your jar for a minute or two, do this for a couple of days, you will notice in a few days the level line of liniment has gone done due to the fresh herbs absorbing the alcohol. You can now add and write down how much Vodka you used to reach the line you made with your magic marker.
Step Five:
This is the last step, depending on the size jar you have and the kit you are using, you most likely can add more vodka into your second batch. If your kit can use lets say 4 liters of vodka and you used only 3.5 liters of alcohol, not counting the Vodka you used to reach your marker line, you can add .5 liters more alcohol as long as you have room in your jar. I always like to leave an inch or two of space from the lid so the herbs can move a little when I shake the jar.
So lets break that down a little further. If during this process you ended up with 3 liters of washed liniment and after adding this into your new batch you noticed in a few days that your level line from your magic marker went down, you can add more Vodka to reach your line. If your kit can use a 4 liters of vodka and you used 3 liters not counting what was used to get back to your initial level mark you can add another liter of Vodka. But you should leave a little headroom at the top to allow the herbs to move when shaking your jar.
I hope this explains or clarifies what to do when your Dit Da Jow runs low and your different options you can take. Now if you want to take this a step farther you could actually do this same process with a brand new kit.
